It is the classic bird par excellence in our latitudes, in our parks and gardens, at the window and on the balcony: the blackbird. At first glance, it may seem almost boring because we see it so often and have known it for ages. But at second glance, it's so much more: familiar, at home, elegant and - if you watch it for a few minutes as it hops through the green grass and lands on the snow-covered birdhouse - somehow endearingly cheeky.
So it's high time to clip the pretty animal into the Christmas tree too; in elegant black, of course, but with the individual feathers in the plumage artfully emphasised with grey brushstrokes. Black glitter also provides great contrasts on the otherwise matt paintwork - just like the striking orange beak and the matching orange eyes.
