The Three Wise Men are always depicted in the company of the popular desert animal. Anyone who watches a camel chewing or trotting is always in a good mood, because the animal with its unique look, soft snout and characteristic humps simply looks too wonderful. It also fits perfectly on the Christmas tree for the reasons just mentioned. Especially when it is as magnificently decorated as this specimen.
The golden basket bags on either side of the hump are lavishly laden. Shiny parcels, gifts and boxes in bright colors such as red, blue and gold are stacked over head-high - so high that it is no longer possible to tell whether the noble animal has two humps or just one (which would make it a dromedary). The traditional tassel and pennant border that holds the loads together is also elaborately decorated with lots of color-coordinated glitter. The shimmering matt brown animal is still lying on its stomach with its legs bent. However, its load is already piled so high that the top brown striped ball even towers above its head.
