Christmas bauble:  Matryoshka

The small, colorful, Russian, interlocking wooden doll with the mostly colorful paintings has long been world-famous. It was first designed by the painter Sergei Vasilyevich Malyutin in 1890 and carved by the craftsman Vasily Petrovich Svyozdochkin. It has long since become a popular toy, decorative object and souvenir.

Here it is now presented as an elegant glass version. Naturally, it cannot be opened or inserted. But it is just as artistically painted and can be hung in the Christmas tree. Her striking headscarf shines red over a golden-yellow body. Blue eyes gaze gently into her round, friendly face. Red, blue and green flowers adorn the spherical body as folklore ornaments.
