It is considered an edible beauty: the star fruit, also known as carambola. It comes from South-East Asia, belongs to the cucumber family and its shape alone makes it perfect for an exotic Christmas celebration.
Made from glass in Europe, it presents itself here cut open as a star-shaped slice, revealing its inner life as artfully as it is delicious. Whitish with light yellow fruit chambers, it shimmers realistically on the front and back. Five brownish seeds are grouped in the center. A lemon or rather carambola-yellow skin forms the refreshing outer skin.
