It is an absolute delicacy: The strawberry, the fruit that simply tastes best when it is ripe and in season. They have also long been available in special varieties in winter, although opinions are divided on this: Some people like them, others don't.
In any case, this strawberry for the Christmas tree is a treat for the eyes and has a practical advantage: it doesn't wilt (at least not if handled carefully), it doesn't wilt and it doesn't have to taste good, it just has to please. It shimmers red, with a gentle gradient of orange towards the tip. The characteristic little yellow nuts adorn the nutlet fruit. A green crown of leaves forms the link between the strawberry and the golden hanging crown.
